Yes. UCCS is part of the University of Colorado system. UCCS is accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) of the Higher Learning Commission.

Yes. Graduate programs at UCCS may accept this credit for elective purposes.

No. The credit in this program is offered by the Extended Studies Program at UCCS, and the certificates are offered by the Center for Cognitive Archaeology. Even though you are creating an official record at UCCS by pursuing credit and/or a certificate through this program, you are not being admitted formally to UCCS.

Yes. Please see our Transcript Request Page for instructions on how to request your official transcript after your coursework is completed.

Yes. All Center for Cognitive Archaeology courses earn letter grades on your UCCS transcript.

No. You must register for credit courses separately through your myUCCS student portal account. See the second item under the "How to Register For CCA Online Courses" section at the CCA Program Home Page.

Contact LAS Extended Studies to request late enrollment paperwork. If the faculty member teaching the course approves, you will be able to add the course late. A $25 late registration fee will apply (no exceptions).

No, there is no problem. Every semester, there is a date after which tuition balances will begin to post to student portal accounts. If you register before this date, your balance will not post immediately, and you will not be able to pay your tuition right away. Please continue to check back to your student portal account, and when you see that the balance has posted, go ahead and make the payment. For Spring 2025, balances will begin to post on approximately January 2, 2025. For registrations completed after this date, the balance should post immediately or within 24 business hours. Your tuition payment is due by the Spring 2025 census date - February 5, 2025.

The Canvas fee is built into the published tuition price of $2,425 per graduate course and $1,480 per undergraduate course. This fee pays for campus Canvas support and maintenance. The fee is $100 per course and will be added to your balance automatically upon registration.

If you need to withdraw, please review the following in detail (all dates that follow are based on the UCCS Main Campus Semester enrollment deadlines for Spring 2025):

1. If you are withdrawing by the Spring 2025 census date - February 5, 2025 - you may use your myUCCS online portal account to withdraw. Withdrawals accomplished by this date will receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees. THIS IS THE LAST DAY TO WITHDRAW AND RECEIVE A REFUND.
2. If you are withdrawing between February 6, 2025 and April 4, 2025, you may use your myUCCS online portal account to withdraw. Any withdrawal accomplished during this window of time will receive no refund.
3. If you are withdrawing after April 4, 2025, you must contact LAS Extended Studies to request withdrawal paperwork. A withdrawal accomplished after this date will receive no refund.

No! UCCS policy is that no student will be dropped for non-payment or non-attendance. Make sure you drop the course through your myUCCS online portal account if you no longer want or need the credit. Or, request withdrawal paperwork from LAS Extended Studies (see question immediately above).

Yes. Any current course offering may be taken without applying for the certificate. However, you cannot officially earn the certificate until you formally apply to the certificate program. Visit the Center for Cognitive Archaeology Home Page for more information.
